On Saturday, I was given the duty of hosting the Columbus Africentric Music Project. Now, I am a huge conversationalist and public speaking is definitely something that I enjoy but, the idea of being on camera with tons of people staring at me frightens me [contradictory, I know]. So many messups, restarts, and “I don’t want to do this” cries were experienced yesterday but it turned out to be a very successful show! One of the artists featured last night was Joy Ike from Pittsburgh, PA [by way of Nigeria].
I can’t even begin to describe to you the gorgeous melodies she sang last night. It was like a breath of fresh air. Tears were shed, spirits were uplifted and nights were made.
I can’t say that I’ll be hosting another music project but, my team at AfricentricsLIVE and soon to be Bustown Network have something special in store for you so…stay tuned!

A nicely polished look can make you go from regular to bombshell in 0.06 seconds. Shoes on point, boyfriend jeans, fitted blazer and a crisp white tee underneath? Perfection. But wait…what’s that going on in your lip area? Underneath that red lip? Is that….CRUST?!?! ewww.
Don’t fret, it’s not [entirely] your fault. The skin on your face is a lot thinner than the skin on the rest of your body, making your lips more prone to dryness once the cold weather hits. Licking your lips doesn’t help either because once that saliva evaporates, it makes them drier than they already were.
There’s a new [to me] exfoliator in town that will have your lips smoother than a baby’s bottom all year round. The e.l.f lip exfoliator is infused with Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Grapeseed, Avocado + Jojoba oils making it the perfect dry lip remedy in one tube. The best part of it all? It’s only 3 dollars.
Don’t be that girl with the chapped lips this season. Head on over to your local Target or get online and purchase a tube…or three.
